The objectives of the Society of Our Lady of Egmanton are to maintain and foster the tradition of Christian pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Egmanton, and to maintain the Shrine and the Parish Church or Egmanton.
In practice the main purpose of the Society is to organise the three main pilgrimages each year. As the Shrine is within Egmanton Parish Church, that includes liaising with the Parochial Church Council, plus the Village Hall trust whose facilities we use, and the team who prepares the lunches.
The Society is managed by the Society Council (members can be viewed on the About the Society page). The constitution of the Society is currently being revised by the Society Council and will be posted here when approved.

Nolan Principles
At their meeting on 12th July 2025, SOLE trustees unanimously agreed that the Nolan Principles should underpin the work of the Charity. The Principles are:
i. Selflessness
ii. Integrity
iii. Objectivity
iv. Accountability
v. Openness
vi. Honesty
vii. Leadership.
Safeguarding
SOLE follows all safeguarding practices commended by the Church of England and its dioceses, including the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham. The Charity has very limited dealings with vulnerable adults and children and so risks are regarded as low. All clergy officiating at services held as part of the three SOLE pilgrimages each year are subject to the usual checks.
